The Nanoxeal warranty
Short answer
The term depends on the roof’s age at the time of application: 15 years if it is under 10 years old, 10 years if it is older. It is a performance warranty, on water repellency and UV resistance, and it is transferable on resale. It exists only when our own crews apply the product.
Which term applies to your roof?
A younger roof has more life ahead of it, so the commitment runs longer. It is the roof’s age that decides, not the house’s.

What exactly is warranted?
The Nanoxeal treatment is warranted on its protective function. The product maintains its water-repellent effect, preventing water from penetrating the material, and retains its resistance to UV rays for the full term of the warranty. This warranty is transferable if the property is resold.
That is the text of the warranty certificate issued with the invoice. It is a warranty on product performance, not a workmanship warranty.
What the price includes

What this treatment does not do
Nanoxeal is a protective coating, not a repair. It does not seal a leaking roof and does not correct any structural damage: split, cracked, lifted or missing shingles, failed flashing, sagging decking, inadequate ventilation, or active water infiltration.
These conditions must be corrected by a roofer before application. Applied to a damaged roof, the treatment will not stop a leak, and the warranty covers neither the infiltration nor any damage resulting from it.
What if there is moss?
If significant moss or vegetation is found at the time of the work, its removal will be quoted as an additional amount, submitted to you in writing, and must be approved by you before it is carried out.
No surprise on the amount
No amount above the total of this quote will be charged without your prior written authorization, as required by Quebec’s Consumer Protection Act.
It exists only if our crews apply the product
An application by our crews opens the warranty.
An application you do yourself opens no warranty. Not a reduced warranty. None.
Applying it yourself is a legitimate choice. Just make it knowingly.
The warranty and the product spec are not the same thing
Our product specification states protection of up to 15 years. That is a manufacturer specification, not the result of an independent test. The warranty is a contractual commitment with two terms and written exclusions. Do not confuse the two, and be wary of anyone who presents them as one thing.
